Nice of the headline not to specify this only applies to the Chinese version of the apple app store.

But then again, this is the verge, so clickbait in the norm.

They aren’t locking down shit. China wants to have every developer registered. If they aren’t, they can’t distribute an app. Apple is complying with the new lay that will remove anyone that doesn’t register with China. Only in China. And applies to every apps store, not just Apple’s.

It’s not that big of a deal everyone makes it out to be.

This keeps getting posted and I’m not sure what people expect Apple do to. Do they genuinely expect Apple to bow out of the largest market on the planet? People are ridiculous if they think any company wouldn’t bow to China to keep selling there.
