Why you may ask? Simple : Bloat, battery life and the UI (the last one is subjective)

Since I updated my Oneplus 8T to Android 12 I felt like something was wrong. The constant notification to access location for nearby devices despite me not wanting to (no option to disable that easily). All the fucking preinstalled apps. And the ColorOS layout.

Since this version I searched and searched for a good custom rom with good battery life and for now I settled with Jaguar. It's based on Android 11 and the developer is very security conscious. You can even lock the bootloader if you donate.

The problem for now is SafetyNet. I can't launch all my apps because of that.

Am I the only one who felt like this since this update ?

ColorOS is the culprit, that's some bullshit they've been pushing on their Chinese OPPO phones, and it's pure cancer.

Install the original OxygenOS. I'm running the Indian ROM and the only bloat was their RedCable Club or something (OnePlus own benefit program for India) and a cricket live ticker. Removed both via adb and now it's great.

Those aren't Android 12 issues tho, they're issues with the specific ROM Oneplus made

Android 12 is when they merged code bases with their parent company's OS, ColorOS. That's also the time I decided to move to Pixel as OnePlus was slowly getting worse.

Glad I helped :))

I had the OnePlus 8, and I fully agree. 13 was a huge improvement over 12, so I did eventually just move on. But only because I knew I was switching phones.

I bought a pixel.

Lineage 21 has been good so far

No, 11 was already shit. It "optimized batterylife" by throttling Apps on my 6T. I mean fine if you do that, but just let me know and give an option to turn it off.
