It's somewhat distressing how far AI has come.

Sure, this is funny. A pretty obvious shitpost. But if this is possible, then something more subtle is also possible.

Lmao at all the exhaust smoke.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 6 days ago

Yep. And that LADA with the run-down tires

I like the jab here but I don’t like how some of these deepfakes are indistinguishable from real life if you remove some context and view it on a smartphone

It's actually really easy to tell: tere's NO WAY Russia has that many working washing machines.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago

I know they were stealing them from Ukraine though. If you told me the Russians were dumb and desperate enough to parade around stolen washing machines as "spoils of war," it wouldn't sound completely implausible.

There's still some telltale sign it's AI, like the occasional discontinuity of limb movements. Its will still probably fool most people when viewed out-of-context, though.

Goddam that's brilliant, so many clever details. AI is clearly trying to win us over.

Finally a proper use for AI

Maybe I’m a little okay with AI…

Can anyone translate what's being said? Or is it AI garbage?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 days ago

It's mostly russian and soviet propaganda drivel, like "For our Soviet Motherland", "For Putin" and whatnot. Surprisingly, only one or two text lines were somewhat garbled by AI.

The barn tank said: towards Kiyv. The rocket on the lada said: towards Washington

Its quoting assorted posts from .ml

I don't get the Finland flag holder at the end?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 days ago

That's Russia's naval ensign.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 days ago (2 children)

This can't be real, right? This is too stupid to be real, right??

[–] [email protected] 26 points 6 days ago (3 children)

I'm sorry, but russia is in fact real.

I think it's just blowing my mind that somebody could watch these clips and go "oh yeah, that's a real strong country" instead of bursting out laughing at each incredibly stupid moment. I thought their whole thing was being good at propoganda!

AI generated 100%

Only detail that makes me think this is not real is cause the red square is the background.
