Why does "productivity" need to be the end? I like some degree of randomness because it makes my life more interesting and enjoyable. In a way, that can make me more productive if I feel more inspired or motivated by it. But I do it because I like it: taking a random road on my daily commute, talking to a random person and seeing what happens, trying a random new restaurant, etc. I have a highly random life with very little routine or predictability.

The last time I flipped a coin, I got half my face melted off, and now I have this overwhelming desire to stick it to rich people. One annoying dude in particular.

Just an aside, this question reminded me of an interview I watched with a former CIA agent speaking about how when he worked overseas he varied his routine randomly every day. Woke up, left the house at different times, drove different routes to work, etc to avoid being targeted. He had a colleague from a different nation who regularly accused him of being paranoid. Then his colleague got assassinated.

I have an excel sheet with tasks and a random number generator.

I also have to try a new food every time Iโ€™m at the grocery store

I think my life is stochastic enough. I need more predictability.
