Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding non-YSK posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-YSK posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

If you are a member, sympathizer or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

For further explanation, clarification and feedback about this rule, you may follow this link.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- The majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

Unless included in our Whitelist for Bots, your bot will not be allowed to participate in this community. To have your bot whitelisted, please contact the moderators for a short review.

Rule 11- Posts must actually be true: Disiniformation, trolling, and being misleading will not be tolerated. Repeated or egregious attempts will earn you a ban. I think it’s at the very least true in the sense they’re both things many people can’t afford

Poor people are fucking sick of hearing this shit. Especially as an unfortunate resident of the USA. I get no paid vacation whatsoever. I have to pay for my vacations twice; once for the vacation itself and again because I'm not working.

and then the looming dread of wondering if they’re going to allow you back into the country

Welcome to the world of self employed people all over the world.

And how is that OPs fault?

“Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things – air, sleep, dreams, sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.”

It really is. Not even a big trip. Anything that changes your perspective is very helpful. Putting everything into context.

Sorry for all the hate you got on this post.

Cool. Is this your way of telling me that you're going to pay for me to go traveling? That would be great, thanks 👍

So I get youre bitter that you cant afford travelling, but how is that OPs fault? Doesnt make the statement less true.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm not particularly bitter about it, it's just a fact of life at the moment. What I do take exception to though are people who like to condescendingly suggest that all life's problems could be solved by just heading to the Caribbean or Europe for a few weeks. If I could afford to just pick up and go wherever whenever I felt like it then most of my issues would already be resolved lol

And when did anyone do that? I think you are projecting a lot here.

Youre saying you agree that travelling is a form of therapy but OP posting exaxtly that in YSK is condescending?

Sure buddy, that's what I said. You got me 👏

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The fuck. I literally quoted you.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 weeks ago

You sure did buddy 👍

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 weeks ago

Disconnecting for your stressful daily routine is therapy.

You don't need to make a 16h plane flight to achieve that.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 weeks ago

This is something that is not universally true. You would not say something like that if you've ever traveled with small children.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

I love it. I know I'm lucky enough to make it happen. OT at work isn't a bad thing when it's vaca $$.

Can someone explain to me why the OP got downvoted to oblivion?
