For me it's Glass Animals. When I first listened to Heat Waves and other songs on Spotify they never struck me as masterpieces, but holy shit are they a VIBE when performed live.. I was jumping like a child in their concert!

Isabel Larosa was also a pleasant surprise. I only knew her songs as those overdone in reels but damn is that girl (and her brother) born for the stage! She has insane energy and holds her audience even without a supporting live band.

Honestly every thing sounds meh when listened to via the phone.

But if you mean on my stereo system at home, then that's a different question of (live vs recorded music).

I don't know if any bands or musicians that sound meh on the recorded but excellent live.

Yeah I wouldn't say meh, but so far in my experience live is always better just because of the energy of being there

The Eagles, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Iron Maiden all come to mind. They each put on a show that far exceed their studios albums.

Gwar. I hate that kind of music tbh, but saw them at a festival and it was one of the best shows I've seen.

Nobody enjoys GWAR for their music. Sure they have a few songs that are fun, but the live show is everything with them.

Caroline Rose was absolutely stellar live. I don't normally like that level of produced pop.

Holy Wave went from background muzak on recordings to euphoric vibes live.

Immolation. Their sound on recordings is fine, but their live sound was unexpectedly amazing.

Art Brut. Their catalog just isn't a draw from me, but I saw them open for another hand and they're immaculate performers, they honestly blew the headliners away with their amazing energy and perfect read of the audience.

I wouldn't say 'meh' because I enjoy the recorded music as well but I saw SYML live in a church last Friday and man, that guy can sing! It was absolutely enchanting.
