I was getting a connection error when upvoting on lemmy.ml so I tried to sign out and sign in and now I’m getting a connection error when signing in. I’m able to do all of this via the web. Voyager has worked perfectly until now.

Voyager works fine with my other account on sh.itjust.works.

Anyone else having this problem?

I will add a user agent for Voyager, hopefully lemmy.ml will add it to their whitelist.

Thanks for adding that, hope that gets us reconnecting to .ml soon!

Still locked out, but posted a comment upthread that you may want to consider.

Just had a thought... here's a prime example of one of the stated advantages of the Fediverse. If you get locked out of one account, you can move to another instance.

Question is: do you get to carry over your profile, subscriptions, followers, comments, saves, up/down votes? Or do you have to start from scratch.

Because if it's scratch, somebody should change the "Fediverse Promise" so users know what to expect.

I'm guessing I know the answer, but this could be something Voyager could handle. Maybe even for a sustainable fee πŸ€”

I don't have the problem (v2.24.3 on Android).

But it seems that it could be an anti-crawler in the .ml instance. See the answer from Dessalines to a similar problem in the MLem app.:

We blocked some crawlers on lemmy.ml today, so a dev would have to let us know what user agent mlem is using.

Looks like the agent declaration has been added to the app presently available in iTunes store, but still unable to connect to lemmy.ml today. @[email protected] is there a process for @[email protected] to follow to get the Voyager agent whitelisted?

There’s another release coming, the user agent wasn’t being added to api requests.

I am having the same issue on my iPad but not my droid phone.

Also, if you logout, you can't log back in. Sounds like it's getting blocked at the server end.

Same symptoms here:

Had to use another client to post this.
