Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

Summary

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reversed a 1965 policy barring segregation in defense contractor facilities, contradicting his confirmation claims of not being racist.

He has prioritized eliminating DEI initiatives, canceling military observances like MLK Day and Holocaust remembrances, and purging nonwhite male leaders.

The Pentagon’s anti-DEI campaign mistakenly flagged Enola Gay bomber photos for deletion because of the word "gay."

Critics link Hegseth’s actions to his far-right Christian nationalist beliefs and hiring of 26-year-old Kingsley Wilson, who promotes neo-Nazi theories, as deputy press secretary.

I think POTUS unlocked a cheat code for avoiding military service! We're gonna have loads of rich people with this first name soon!

Republicans are dumber than dogshit. On top of that, they’re traitors. It is unreal that fucking idiots voted for this garbage. Enjoy your egg prices, cunts. Check your 401Ks if you have them, cunts.

My 401k is down 3 grand, even after I've put in $1000 in just the last month. Fuck everyone who voted for this asshole.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 3 days ago

al green spoke against the hegemony. pete hegseth seeks to maintain it

The word in this context is "censured" 💗

What do you expect when they forget half the letters in the word ‘fuck’?

Yeah this was mean I’m sorry I’m just fucking annoyed at algorithmically induced self censorship today.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

is this why we stopped making more biplanes ?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

And forget about a new transcontinental railroad

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

It’s just so absolutely, patently absurd. The plane that ran one of the most crucial attacks missions in World War 2 - literally, a strategic turning point, simultaneously ushering in an entirely new era of warfare - is being censored, because one of the words they used in the name of the plane is now considered verboten. Like, holy fucking christ, Hesgeth. Reach into your purse and find your fucking balls, you fucking cunt (apologies - I know he lacks both the depth and warmth).

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

It looks like republicans are afraid of gay planes. Better hope they don't swarm if you anger them.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

You mean that gay plane that dropped that gay bomb and now everybody's gay? Yeah, sure.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 days ago

It's actually because he's against nuclear proliferation.
