Asking about the one piece anime is a good litmus test for potential friends. If they hate it, they have decent taste. If they like it, they’ll probably accept my extended, meandering tangents.

I'll thank you now, I've been wanting to get into one piece but the ridiculous length was keeping me off.
One summer in college I watched the first 500 episodes in an extreme binge session. Probably 18 hour days of nothing but one piece day after day. Then I ran out of episodes. I keep thinking I'll watch the rest someday, but I struggle up even remember most of what I watched back then. And now watching 1000 episodes feels like an impossible challenge
I've seen 46 anime series and movies in the time it would take me to get 2/3 the way through One Piece
Just started it last week. Enjoying it so far.
Is the main character autistic or something? He seems kinda oblivious to social queues
Luffy wants a stocked fridge, to honour his friendships and to be king of the pirates. He just doesn't give a single fuck about anything else
One Piece is a children's show. My children love it. I wouldn't wish it on adults.
