I saw a $100 bundle of in-game currency and decided I'd rather not play.

- 3: No untagged game spoilers. If the game was recently released or not released at all yet, use the Spoiler tag (the little ⚠️ button) in the body text, and avoid typing spoilers in the title. It should also be avoided to openly talk about major story spoilers, even in old games.
But they just buy skins and stuff. You don't need to pay to play, it won't help you win.
I wouldn't pay $100 for an entire game. It grosses me out that someone is expected to spend $100 on cosmetics. Like obviously not everyone, but that it's even possible is rather horrifying. Especially since it doesn't stop there. You can buy multiple packs, and it's fully expected that some people will.
And it's true that some people will, but those people exist whether the game offers it or not. If The Finals won't offer it, then they'll just spend their money elsewhere.
I only played a couple hours yesterday, something like 5 games.
I like the gameplay: it's relatively simple and for once my skills are not too shitty.
It seem to require quite a bit of cooperation and unfortunately, as I don't have my group of friends anymore, I ended playing with randos which led to inconsistent games: one game I had a great team, the other we were too scattered to win.
Finally, I have to play a little bit more to form an opinion, but I'm afraid that the gameplay will be a bit too repetitive for me.
Different playstyles can be fun and I'm doing much better than I expected with crossplay solo-queue
It’s a shame it doesn’t run on linux though…
I play with Proton Experimental, I don't know if I'll get banned, but until then I'll keep playing.
oh nice, Ill try again (I tried it ages ago and it was crashing, and protondb has a borked status)
edit: I confirm it works
Now the status is silver, I don't know if it was an update from them and they didn't announce it, if it's a Proton Experimental thing or just luck, but now it's running.
It crashes probably 90% of the times I launch it but the few times I've managed to play I've found it to be a lot of fun
It's fun and it's not frustrating
