I'm not sure exactly when, but at some point in the past month I stopped getting text messages in a group chat between my mom and siblings. Weird thing is I don't seem to have any problem getting texts sent just to me, or even with other group texts (as far as I know).

We mostly just share memes and shit, but it drives me nuts thinking that someone could be trying to tell me something and it just doesn't reach my phone.

Are you on Android? I selected something a while back that stopped Google's proprietary messaging system for sms, and it dropped all of my group chats. I had to be readded to them

I am. That's interesting. I didn't change any settings, but maybe an update did something.

My dude, I think they blocked you broski… /s

Just kidding…maybe you have the group silenced?

  • are you just not getting notifications but they still end up in the thread when you open it, or you can’t see them at all?
  • is this happening with all participants in the group?
  • are you on an iPhone or android and which app?
  • if you don’t have anything important in the conversation, maybe try deleting the thread and see if you start receiving from the others
  • Try starting a new group chat from your device.

I'm not getting the messages at all. I'm on android with the Google messages app, and the others have iphones.

Starting a new group chat sounds like a good suggestion, especially since the other group chat I'm in seems to work.
