Spend 30 days in jail vs Murder the locals.

Shocked that this is so rare it makes the news.

If you've ever seen a video of those monsters celebrating the destruction of Palestinian's homes it would become clear why it's so rare. Literally jumping for joy and clapping after kicking someone out of their home and watching as it crumbles in front of them. Inhuman.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

This is something that happens all the time, why are you calling it "so rare"?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 10 months ago (1 children)

So you're claiming "those monsters" includes non-members of the military who are up for conscription? I.e. every Israeli?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

1), that's bad faith and 2) If you go to jail because you refused to serve, no I would not consider you a monster, quite the opposite.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 10 months ago (1 children)

It isn't rare at all, the news is just primed to latch onto this stuff now.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 10 months ago

I hope you're right. It's entirely possible you are and this is being politicized and publicized precisely because of ongoing events. But I sincerely hope the number does go up because of current events.

This shouldn't even be news, it literally happens constantly in Israel. I personally know someone who did time for refusing mandatory service. It's considered a rite of passage by those of certain political persuasions.

Forced military service in an ethnostate engaged in genocide is a pretty righteous thing to oppose.

Conscription is yet another good reason to stop finding or enabling Israel's psychotic march to the sea.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 10 months ago

FYI, the phrase is "rite of passage".

[–] [email protected] 45 points 10 months ago

If my country was doing this I’d refuse too.

[–] [email protected] 43 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Prison or worse for refusing to give your life for your Leader is completely normal in any fascist regime.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Normal? It's a defining feature

[–] [email protected] 0 points 10 months ago

Well, among other.

[–] [email protected] -5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Please tell me of one country where you can refuse to obey a call to arms.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Most EU contries don`t have a forced Military Service. Even if they have, as.eg Germany in the past, you can select an alternative social service for an equivalent time, if you don't want become a soldier.

No European country is at war. Do you really think it wouldn't come back if war was actually starting in Europe?

[–] [email protected] 37 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Shit, this is one of the kids Hasan just had on a couple weeks ago.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by "who?". Are you asking me who the person that was arrested is, or who Hasan is?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 20 points 10 months ago

Hasan Piker. Hasanabi. Leftist streamer.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I had no clue who "Hasan" is.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I'll add to his resume, too. Destroyer of Andrew Tate, bane of the Bald and Fat (Fresh and Fit) "podcast".

[–] [email protected] -5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

That sounds like a good thing. But the dude thinks Russia is justified...??

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Justified in what? If you're talking about the Ukrainian invasion that's been going on for two years, no he does not.

Does doing charity streams to raise over $200,000 for Ukrainian relief funds count as evidence? There's this cool Google machine that can answer all of your questions so you're not relying on random people online.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 10 months ago

Good for him. Hope they treat him better than they've shown they treat other civilians.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 10 months ago

It actually makes me so angry that Israel gives religious exceptions, but you can’t have a moral one. What the fuck how does that contradiction not start a civil war

[–] [email protected] 18 points 10 months ago

That's pretty intense, good luck to them.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 10 months ago

I would take prison not just for obvious ethical reasons but also because I don't want to be shitting diarrhea in my battlefield diapers.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 10 months ago

Good for him for standing up for his ideals. Also, this is not news because this is what happens when you don't follow conscription orders.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 10 months ago

Honestly commendable.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You will become a complicit war criminal. Or else.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

You will live in the Merkava, you will eat the idf-destroyer

[–] [email protected] 10 points 10 months ago

What’s legal and what’s moral are rarely the same

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Good on him.
