the article starts with this paragraph ☞

In a scene from the The Rings of Power, Amazon's lavish but somewhat unloved Lord of the Rings prequel, a mob of sword-wielding, scaly-faced orcs go at Sauron like a table of famished diners at a bloody steak. Seemingly vanquished, the wannabe Dark Lord pulls off a disappearing trick only to return as a misshapen tangle of black fibers, gorging on vermin and eventually people until he is rebuilt in human form, albeit unrecognizable.

i stopped reading after this.

Its main Western rivals like Samsung?

South Korea, like Japan, are a part of the West, having far more and n common with the US than any SEA country or other eastern countries.

Yeah, Samsung is located in the occupied Korea which is part of the empire last I checked.

So anything west of China and Russia is "the west?" I suppose Japan and Australia are "the west" too since you can get there if you travel west long enough?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

No, anything that's a vassal state of the US is the west. And yes, Japan and Australia are understood to be part of the western bloc. This isn't even controversial.

Is "the west" in the room with you right now? Blink twice if so.

You did all that and the link you use as proof doesn’t have Japan or Korea included? Lol

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The link I used clearly shows what people mean by the western world, the fact that it doesn't include Japan or Korea isn't the own that you seem to think it is. Of course, I never expect any sort of intelligent response here. lol indeed

I get it, yes. Just ironic
