Watch out for that sub. The mods over there don't seem to be in good faith and remove any content they don't like which isn't direct and blatant hate toward religion. If you want to engage in any serious atheist or religious discussion i suggest you to avoid it.

Getting banned sucks but it's not great form to complain about it publically. You can just block the sub and move on.

I'm sharing my feedback and warning others about the malice of these mods and to avoid the place if they seek serious discussion

I agree in general, but banned or not, this info needs to be spread loud and clear. lemmy.ml is a horrible place. I haven't been banned from any communities there, for what it's worth.

lemmy.ml is a horrible place.

Is it?

Yes. It's not just the community that you mentioned. Bans for any sort of comment that disagrees with the opinions of the mods or admins.

They spout rhetoric about echo chambers while they're the worst example.

So use [email protected] instead. It's bigger and more active anyway.

I don't know anything about the sub but usually agnostic ones where bigger on engaging in religious discussion just like most islam subs or christian subs don't really want to debate what religion is correct. Its a made up mind. I used to be very agnostic and was more into debating but now im very athiest and im no longer really searching in regards to the metaphysical because I have made up my mind its not a thing and its not as fun as debating if doctor strange could beat doctor fate in a fight.
