I don't really feel the same about all these. But some are pretty familiar.

I really get along with cats because they consider looking away a gesture of friendliness.

I was never diagnosed but when Asperger's was a thing most people thought I belonged in that bucket....

Some people get annoyed at how quickly cats like/trust me. But I don't give them eye contact and frankly look at them a little disinterested.

A lot of animals are like that. Many, like horses, don't like touch, unless in very specific settings. All just common sense politeness among most living beings. What's with these neurotypicals staring at everyone and touching unasked? Weirdos.

That's a thing I do too! I offer my hand as a petting post. The interaction is usually the cat petting me at first

I like that it's ambiguous whether you're talking about the cats or the jealous people 😄

Works with both, no worries

Yeah same here. Never diagnosed but I sure have a lot of traits of it.

And yes that is exactly what cats do with newcomers. Even between themselves. They only stare once they trust each other (and even then they will often squint as a sign of friendliness).

I think it's because cats are predators as well as prey. They know big open eyes side by side are used to gauge distance for an attack (unlike the eyes on each side of the head like most prey animals have). So eyes are a weapon to them. This is why closing eyes is disarming.

Or... hear me out... I can just close the page and they can fuck right off for making it harder to read.

Yeah, I found that pretty frustrating when I found out because I couldn't copy the article to quote it in the post.

Signing! I do this so often, I don't know if it get's misinterpreted or not. But it's definitely away for me to regulate emotions

There's an autism YouTuber that starts most of her videos with awkward singing. I just saw it as her cute quirk, but maybe she's using it to regulate her emotions as well.
