Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

You're going to have to get some more specifics from your airline. Even with that, though, sometimes you get screwed and have the seat with a little less clearance than they publish.

Personal items typically fit under the seat in front of you, so you can look for "underseat carry on bag" to get a rough idea of what is available.

As an added bonus if you are in the very front seat and they say to put it under the seat in front of you, you have no where to put it

Personal experience when I went to DC.

Bulkhead seats usually have reserved overhead storage. The attendants will often offer to stow your bags for you right before takeoff, so that you can access your bags right up until they need to be stowed.

True. Most will. Sadly the one that I was on didn’t.

CRJ 700

First class in there was worn out seats and arm rests. And if the plane was filled you had to put your carry on bag under the plane. You go down the ramp and just before the door to enter the plane you set your carry on down and they put the bag under the plane.

My experience is that it is entirely on the flight crew to think ahead and "reserve" this space. Sometimes, it's not really reserved at all, there is just more room for overhead stuff in First Class so they just put your bag there, and then you have to endure the stare of entitled dipshits every time you need to get your bag.

Why not under your own seat...logic dictates everyone gets their own seat, not everyone has a seat in front of them.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

Because you can't see under your own seat and the space under the seat in front of you is already where you store your feet. Typically, in the front row of the plane, there's more leg space since like you said there's no seat there.

Not sure. But they said it goes under the seat in front of you. Not sure why they have that thought process.

It's not exactly those dimensions, but check out Osprey Daylite Tote Pack. I read some airline summary and the OP said it fits every single one, even the more restrictive ones

I bought this guy cause it's smaller and soft sided. And no wheels because I'm not a loser.

These are all awesome bags. They all fit the carry-on dimensions. You'd have to check each one to see if they fit the personal items bag size though.

I have a North face shuttle daypack that is exactly the nominal dimensions and conveniently boxy. I'm 90% sure it's fake though, so going with a ruler to a store or market that sells backpacks is what I'd recommend.

There is a company making a hard sided suitcase with removable wheels which can fit. I'd strongly recommend against that because the handle will take up so much of the already limited space. And there's nowhere to put the wheels when they're removed where it can still fit. Note that Spirit sizers are unofficially 18x14x9 rather than the officially advertised 18x14x8. Frontier's bag sizers are truly 18x14x8.

I used a laptop backpack, and I was all stressed out about it fitting for nothing
