Just use the nicotine-plus client for soulseek instead. It's much more stable, and it's foss

Socket erroe? Sound more like your specific VPN is broken and not a soulseek problem. Fix the VPN, change providers, whatever.

You aren't going to find much that is remotely close to the selection on soulseek without getting into a private tracker of some kind that serves the sort of content you are after.

As someone else said you should probably just fix your VPN and carry on using soulseek as it really is the best option out there that is easily available.

I usually use slavart, but it's been unstable lately. With it, you can download anything from Deezer and qobuz.

I used Soulseek almost exclusively for around 5 years, and I found that some obscure tracks/albums (mostly metal) aren’t available as FLACs.

Now I use streamrip with a basic Tidal subscription. It costs a bit of money but it’s very fast and has everything I searched for as a FLAC.

You could try ed2k/kad or dc++ network
