These videos make you realize how sad war is. This guy knew he was dead and was doing what he could to defend himself. Russian or not, he's a human brainwashed and sent to his death by a cowardly billionaire.
My heart is with the Ukrainian People and they must win this pointless war.
Still, videos like this sadden me. Making fun of some young man dying just doesn't sit right with me. People here are calling them orks. Its just sad for everyone involved.
That's exactly how I feel.
War sucks. Drones are really messed up, everyone permanently watched, day and night nowhere to hide, every lawnmower-sound in the distance might be the last you ever hear. And it's not even autonomous swarm drones yet...
Should have stayed home. Yes, it's that easy.
It was his choice to die in this shit. He wanted to kill people and got killed himself. Good.
Choice..
Oh thats what it is being drafted. Choice. Or being given the "choice": stay in prison with a few more years added or take this chance at freedom after a year while being paid.
Choice is what politicians have.
If you choose to go kill innocents in an invaded land to "earn" your freedom, you are the type of person that should stay in prison.
There's a high chance this wasn't his choice at all. Due to depleted forces men on both sides of the conflict are getting press ganged into the military, and at least on the Russian side there's a lot of info out there of unit leaders taking bribes to place recruits into safer positions. Don't have enough cash, you go straight to the front lines.
I know. I don't know his situation. These up-close videos just make everything more personal compared to the cutaway shot at the end.
Yup. And someone is very proud about killing him, safely from a seat far away while sipping Coffee.
And then post this shit.
I dont care who is who or who is right. Pics and vids showing murder (because thats what this is, there was no military gain for killing a single soldier walking alone in the open) should not be posted.
We will never recover from this new form of warfare. Like the first ww with it's use of chemical weapons. Or the 2nd with its missiles, firestorms (Dresden) and ultimately the atom bomb.
Drones are just as disruptive as those things. They're scary. It borders on terrorism. You cant truly defend yourself from it.
While I may be inclined to agree that videos like these shouldn't be shared I can't help but to strongly disagree with the rest. Killing armed enemy combatants is not a murder. He has a rifle on his back and is clearly not surrendering. What do you propose that Ukrainians should do, let themselves and their families be killed because he was alone?
And no military gain from killing an invader? You must be joking, right? How else are they meant to defend themselves if not by taking out the enemy?
Deserting is an option.
The Russians need to pick that because not to means that Russian guy is there to murder Ukrainians and take their stuff and loved ones so yes, killing him is necessary because of what he came and was sent to do.
Like every soldier
