I mean... What's the point in talking about a band you don't know? Make an opinion and then discuss, not the other way around.

But anyway, most bands have only 1-2 polarizing factors (musical style, artists' personality, overzealous or otherwise annoying fans, etc.). Tool has a lot more. That makes people lean more towards either love or hate on the spectrum. Personally, I lean towards love since I'm not really influenced by Maynard's personality nor the fans'. The music is pretty great, for the most part. There's times when I'm not in the mood to listen to the interludes or whatever you wanna call them, so I skip them and that's about it.
