Best foss budget software for both linux and android? (lemmy.antemeridiem.xyz)

Looking to start budgeting, I'd like to be able to use it on both android and linux and use syncthing to sync the file. Is there a good solution for that?

it'd be nice if I could easily divide my income into different buckets, add expenses to those buckets, and see how much is remaining in any given bucket for the current month. Less important but still nice would be an easy way to roll surplus into the same bucket for the next month

Frirefly iii. You will have to self hosted tho. It has a web interface. But Im not sure about mobile

Is there a benefit to hosting a budget over a local file? This one and actual budget go that route but it seems unnecesarily complicated. Is there something I'm missing?

Mostly the features. But if you only need/want a basic system, I agree the local file is better.
