That's New Mexico, and a good question.
New Mexico just has a smaller human population than its neighbor states. Makes the ratio seem high.

That explains ME vs NH but not ME vs VT, unless it's just the size of ME encompassing more squirrels
My knowledge is limited to Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul but it looks kind of deserty.
Maybe it has the same number of squirrels but way fewer people?
