Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

I see you already got an answer, but one thing I do is disable the microphone and camera on my pixel.
I keep them in the notification drawer because I just don't trust keeping them on, but obviously I have to trust the OS is don't that properly.
i might do that too, but turning them on and off constantly would be such a bother. Also it would be annoying to forget microphone when someone calls or you call to someone. I wish i could just install grapheneos or something, but fairphone doesnt seem to be supported for it and at this point i wouldnt want to risk losing my data if something breaks.
Maybe check out CalyxOS? It’s pitched as being Fairphone compatible.

The pixel is a secondary device I got for a job but they let me keep, so it's not a bother for me.
It does prompt you to unmute but it's very easy to forget to turn it back on.
It's not a good solution, but I like that it's an option
