I was a fan of the Snyderverse but suspect James Gunn will do a better job at forming a cohesive franchise. Looking forward to this movie.

I'm interested in what his superhero movies look like without the ragtag group vibe.

There will be a lot of obscure DC heroes in this as well, though.

Snyder was rushed. WB saw the success of The Avengers and wanted a big movie like that and FAST. So the story was rushed and characters didn’t have enough time to develop. Then, the whole thing with justice league happened and they brought in Joss Whedon as a last blow just to make sure that nothing will be cohesive or make any sense

We’ve seen unrushed Snyder, though. The issues present in his DC movies are still present in his newer projects.

I haven’t seen his latest movies, but the consensus seems that they’re bad. But when I saw ZSJL it felt like a more complete story arc. I don’t know how better DCEU would’ve been if he did his plan, but at least we wouldn’t have gotten Joss Whedon’s cut.

I actually like Zach Snyder and legitimately enjoyed Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon Part 2 (part 1 not so much,) but it’s hard to ignore his flaws.

His Justice League felt like a complete story, but the ending where he teased the post apocalyptic world with the evil Superman was just weird and not in a good way. Presumably, that was where he wanted to take the DCEU and I don’t think audiences would have been invested.

Yeah, at the time it seemed like people wanted lighthearted, bright, popcorn superhero movies, and the fatigue wasn’t apparent yet. This is why i think if Zack had his way it would’ve been better, he wanted to do something interesting and risky, and maybe create something that’s not in the same formula Marvel has perfected and overused.

Let’s hope James Gunn doesn’t go for the same strategy Marvel has right now.

Zach’s DCEU wasn’t perfect but he at least had an interesting idea and it’s a shame he didn’t get to see it through. I’m interested to see where Gunn goes with it.

Was Snyder really rushed though? He only made two out of the like five or six movies he had planned, at least on the planned schedule. Justice League was basically remade from scratch and ZSJL was made long after plans of completing Snyder's vision had been abandoned.
