Kind of an unsatisfying but still well deserved "TOLD YOU SO" moment... I knew those fuckers would be moronic enough to vote for this shit faced fascist again, while everyone told me to expect a Harris landslide... The fact that everyone talked about fucking grocery prices, tech research, housing prices, kids, abortions, and other (in the grand scheme of things) irrelevant bullshit that won't matter anymore, while we're literally about to seal the deal on our fate as a species, tells you clearly that no one wants to understand where we're headed and what's at stake.
But since nothing matters anymore, here's some more predictions from yours truly:
TLDR: Nothing fucking matters anymore, we're done. Thanks, you dumb fucks.
It's going to be a world war. They wrote my whole family's fucking epitaph with this election.
Who's going to war with whom? To me it seems more likely that all the countries are going to embrace totality peacefully.
Eh.... I don't know, man. I also see a darker future, but if Trump didn't do anything like this in 2016, it won't happen in 2024. He's older, he'll just want to play golf.
Edit: Downvoted. I just hope that the repubs get almost nothing of value done like they did in 2016-2020. Sucks that the abortion rights were taken away, sure. But they couldn't repeal Obamacare or build their precious wall, all because they're a bunch of incompetents. I hope it's the same case this time around. I'm not too optimistic, but I can only hope.
They have the courts on their side now, along with the senate I think the house as well. They have a literal plan outlined on hundreds of pages on how to transform the US, which is not just Trump, but the majority of the Republican party - along with a bunch of outside influences.
Fuck. May Baphomet have mercy on our souls.
Trump alone isn't as harmful as the republicans he represents. Trump will sign the bills the republicans bring him and he will mostly appoint republicans to positions of power and issue orders they tell him to.
On the plus side, liberals might come back from brunch and help resist certain bipartisan policies again. Deportations actually went down under Trump.
Well shit!
Enjoy your erosion of rights dumbass.
Just shut the fuck up, man. Do you think I'm happy about all this? My rights have been eroded whether I like it or not. I'm just hoping that they are not eroded further. I don't understand your stupid comment.
Unless I misunderstood you and you're in fact a republican threatening me, in which case, doubly go fuck yourself.
No, you just sound like an idiot if you think shit is not going to hit the fucking fan. Day fucking one he's deporting people. It's going to get ugly. So stop making it seem like it's going to be okay.
I just wished you stopped name-calling me since it makes you sound like a edgelord teen.
You're entitled to your opinion. I understand that you're angry. So am I. But I can't do shit about what's about to happen. So I prefer to remain hopeful and do whatever I can to continue supporting the communities that will be affected by what the majority of Americans legitimately decided in democracy.
I understand wanting to be hopeful, I'm trying too. What you said originally sounded like you're downplaying all of this, and I'm assuming that's why you got downvoted so much.
I hope supporting our communities will be enough for this next 2 to 4 years, but only time can tell.
And I'm sorry I called you a dumbass.
Hopefully he gets a hole in one >ω<
A liberal making measurable predictions? That's new.
Come on, that's like predicting the sun will rise.
Predicting a train that's going off a cliff will continue to go off that cliff.
OK, we have 5, maybe 6 testable predictions. Do you want to give a timeframe so if they don't happen, you can go back an analyze what caused you to believe these things at the time?
I don't care about free markets.
The US potentially leaves, and / or NATO members won't actually uphold their promise to defend something like the Baltics, or only through token measures, moving the red line from Russia's side further and further.
Oh please. Even now you're unsure on whether you want to call me a doomer or agree with my points. A bit earlier and it would've been the former.
The US continuing to do nothing about climate change, continuing to take a fascist approach to refugees, and Europe maintaining the conditions for the far right to continue to rise isn't agreeable or doomer, it's just obvious.
You've got a bunch of things that are so absurdly off base I can only hope you go back and critically examine how you were lead to believe them, two things that might happen if the US forces it, and then "and the sky will remain blue".
That's absolutely hysterical to hear from a Ruscist / Tankie.
OK, so do we have any timeframes where you'll go back and say "Huh, so Russia didn't genocide Ukraine and then invade the baltics and Moldova, and NATO still exists, what did I misunderstand before and what can I do so I don't get fooled again?"
The fall of the USSR was one of the greatest non-war-related humanitarian disasters of the 20th century by life-expectancy, infant mortality, alcoholism, really any metric except oil exports, do you really think I have any positive feelings towards the guys who orchestrated it and are wearing its corpse?
Learning history and dialectical materialism is like having a crystal ball compared to an idealist understanding of history.
Thanks for proving my point oh so wonderfully.
This is you.
