So are half of the US beating women? Are half of the US women got beaten regularly? Who do the women supporting Republicans beat? If people in the US were involved in domestic violence should they be counted automatically as voting for the Republicans?
About one third of women have experienced physical and/or sexual abuse, so very possibly.
Additionally, voter turnout is horrendous. Only about 1/3 of voting age Americans voted in 2018, 2020 and 2022, so it is mathamatically possible for the ~1/6 of Americans who voted for trump and trump-endorsed candidates to be sexually and/or physically abusive to their partners, and that's before getting into the weeds with ratios male/female trump voters, people who've had multiple partners in that timeframe, people who don't vote consistently, etc.
Oh and only about 30% of American adults identify as Republican, with about 40-50% of American adults identifying as independent, so in short "Trump supporters" are not half of Americans
For the record, I don't actually believe all trump supports are physically and/or sexually abusive to their partners, but given that Trump is a known sexual and physical abuser, I wouldn't be shocked if his base overrepresents physically and sexually abusive partners.
Thank you for informative response.
