pictures of my wifes c-section

What. Is it like even ethical to suggest? I'm sure doctors don't ask after a car accident if you want a bloody snuff of your naked partner. I'm sure there are people who are a bit too fascinated with having a child and want everything documented but, ugh, I'd rather forget this generally unpleasant and nervous time for everyone.

For my friend's C-section a nurse filmed it on her phone. The video was cool, reminded me of Alien.

C sections are pretty cool. Popping the amniotic sac and pulling that thing out is fun to watch. I was a 6'6" 300 pound (192cm, 135 kg) male nursing student standing in on one and the poor woman asked me if I was okay afterwards as if it bothered me. It was very sweet. "Oh no, I'm fine ma'am, how are you!"

Knee replacements can be a little rough to watch with the saws, hammers and chisels like an episode of this old house in the OR, but C sections are alright.

The fact the best we can do still for some things is just to crack open a being and just start fucking smacking them with a hammer is wild to me. I wonder what things we'll still be using in the far off future.

Well it's just really the orthopod bros that still do everything manually. Like the biggest technological change there could be something like a CNC machine to precisely modify the bones, but they tend to get good results with how they do it now so I don't mind. And it gives them a good excuse to lift weights so they can keep hammering bones, keeping the Ortho bro stereotype going.

Ethical? Yeah, totally. I can get why you and others may be bothered by seeing a surgery, but plenty of others are not. Ethics has nothing to do with the situation. It's not like they are letting random people take pictures. The person who is there has already been given consent to be there in the first place. Also, the patient is usually awake during a C-section.

They have given their consent for a medical procedure.

Sharing an x-ray of one's troubled jaw freely is illegal as it is too personal. And photoes of a bare vag and a c-section are too. Unless the woman is consenting to that.

I'm caring more about the fact that these photoes are fucking grim and even if the consent is there, it's weird someone would want them.

pictures of a c-section, vs pictures of a mangled corpse in a car wreck, is an apples to oranges comparison. I think you wouldn't want to see a surgery, and you are really stretching to make it seem that anyone who would, is a bad person. Pictures of these things are common, lots of people film, and photograph, births. Many people are fine with recordings of their medical procedures, for both personal, and educational reasons.

Just because you don't like something does not make other people bad for finding interest in it.

They have given their consent for a medical procedure.

Yes, and that is when you are asked if you want anyone else in the room with you. You can also change that at any time up until before you go in. Doctors do not let just anyone in without explicit consent.

I'm caring more about the fact that these photoes are fucking grim and even if the consent is there, it's weird someone would want them.

That's your opinion. Myself, and many others, do not think so.

If the patient wants the pics then go for it! I have some pictures half way through a root canal that are awesome.
