Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

MAGAt Map is like Family Watchdog. It provides locations to avoid for safety.

The Ohio Sheriff is advocating lists for retribution and mob violence using a position of power.

I hope you can see the difference.

Read the other comments here, that map will be used for mob violence, too

[–] [email protected] -4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Was https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Negro_Motorist_Green_Book used for violence? I'd say the benefit of providing safety is greater than the risk of bad actors.

Nah, I can't think of anything negative happening based on a list of people, their beliefs, and addresses especially not in the 1930s

[–] [email protected] -4 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Do you actually know what you're talking about? Do you have anything other than opinion and unsupported questions to offer?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I didn't ask a question, so there's that. Just a suggestion: maybe you should ask yourself how you will make sure that your map is not used for mob violence and how you can make sure that unvetted and outdated information doesn't hurt innocent people. Shitty ideas don't get better by good intentions.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

You're right, my bad. I thought you had asked a question and when I reread I was wrong. Those are good questions. I still don't think this is a shitty idea with good intentions. It might just be a shit idea. Voting hasn't helped. Working with police hasn't help. Advocacy and protests haven't helped. Community hasn't helped. This is just another try.

Adding property records allows for a way to keep outdated information pruned. If the property sells, it can be removed.

Also, nothing on the website advocates violence or retaliation. Do you feel Family Watchdog should be taken down?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm sure the sheriff hasn't "advocated" for violence and retaliation either.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Reading the article, it's easy to see he has. Looking into his racist rhetoric, it's easy to see he has. Looking at his history... you guessed it!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

What sounds more like a threat of violence:

We’ll already have the addresses of the their New families...who supported their arrival!

Or

You feel safe with [group]? Say, whats your address?

?

Oh, you're actually a full-on apologist. I thought you were trying for moral high ground.

Have a nice day and good luck on your future endeavors!

Sheriff suggests keeping a list of people who disagree with him politically.

Most people: "that's horrifying!"

You: furiously takes notes

Pointing out the obvious hypocrisy doesn't mean I'm defending anyone. Both of you are terrible people that no one should listen to.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Negro_Motorist_Green_Book

Green wrote his guide to services and places relatively friendly to African Americans

Green founded and published the Green Book to avoid such problems, compiling resources "to give the Negro traveler information that will keep him from running into difficulties, embarrassments and to make his trip more enjoyable"

You've completely twisted the reality of what that book is. This was a guide on safe places, not your dystopian private citizen political tracker you're trying to promote.

You feel safe with fascists? Say, whats your address?
