THE POLICE PROBLEM

The police problem is that police are policed by the police. Cops are accountable only to other cops, which is no accountability at all.

99.9999% of police brutality, corruption, and misconduct is never investigated, never punished, never makes the news, so it's not on this page.

When cops are caught breaking the law, they're investigated by other cops. Details are kept quiet, the officers' names are withheld from public knowledge, and what info is eventually released is only what police choose to release — often nothing at all.

When police are fired — which is all too rare — they leave with 'law enforcement experience' and can easily find work in another police department nearby. It's called "Wandering Cops."

When police testify under oath, they lie so frequently that cops themselves have a joking term for it: "testilying." Yet it's almost unheard of for police to be punished or prosecuted for perjury.

Cops can and do get away with lawlessness, because cops protect other cops. If they don't, they aren't cops for long.

The legal doctrine of "qualified immunity" renders police officers invulnerable to lawsuits for almost anything they do. In practice, getting past 'qualified immunity' is so unlikely, it makes headlines when it happens.

All this is a path to a police state.

In a free society, police must always be under serious and skeptical public oversight, with non-cops and non-cronies in charge, issuing genuine punishment when warranted.

Police who break the law must be prosecuted like anyone else, promptly fired if guilty, and barred from ever working in law-enforcement again.

    That's the solution.

Our definition of ‘cops’ is broad, and includes prison guards, probation officers, shitty DAs and judges, etc — anyone who has the authority to fuck over people’s lives, with minimal or no oversight.

RULES

Real-life decorum is expected. Please don't say things only a child or a jackass would say in person.

If you're here to support the police, you're trolling. Please exercise your right to remain silent.

Saying ~~cops~~ ANYONE should be killed lowers the IQ in any conversation. They're about killing people; we're not.

Please don't dox or post calls for harassment, vigilantism, tar & feather attacks, etc.

Please also abide by the instance rules.

It you've been banned but don't know why, check the moderator's log. If you feel you didn't deserve it, hey, I'm new at this and maybe you're right. Send a cordial PM, for a second chance.

Out of control racist pieces of shit cops. That's all true.

Also, separately and not related to this incident, Hill is a piece of shit human being.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yup. There's no need to argue at all. Just stop the guy, give them the ticket and move on. If a guy is too angry to deal with, so be it. It's not like talking louder or dragging him out is going to fix whatever happened 5 seconds ago that made the cop stop the driver. Just stop being racist pieces of shit cops, that's all we ask for.

Moreover, you now have their plate, which has their address on it. Mail the damn ticket if you're scared to deal with it in person or whatever.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Exactly! Get that license plate real good and high tail it out of there. No need to stay and make a bunch of kids miss their dad for a lifetime. Fucking get some doughnuts at the Wendy's and leave people alone!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wendy's doesn't have doughnuts, just sayin'.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

It's good for them to waste time too. What now doughnuts?! No sir! If you want doughnuts you'll have to drive over to the DMV and wait in line (Doughnut Manufacturer & Vendor).

Related to this incident. You know what I do when I get pulled over? Shut my car off and roll the window down. If it's at night I'll also turn on the dome light.

This guy keeps his loud ass sports car running, has dark tint on the windows, and won't put his window down at all so the cops can see him, or what he's doing. He was being an asshole the entire stop.

None of which is illegal nor worth a beating.

I'm glad that you enjoy grabbing ankle for every cop you smell.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why make a stressful situation worse? They didn't know him or what he was going to do behind the wheel of a running car.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

He handed the cop all the paperwork he needed for the stop 10 second into the video and Hill told the cop to right him a ticket before he rolled up his window. So the cops knew exactly what Hill wanted, which was his ticket so he could go on with his day.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

62 second from the start of the video to when Hill is on the ground. All because he hurt the cops feelings, they got some real sensitive cops down in Florida lol.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

No, you don't get it... He not only didn't quake in fear and shit his pants like you are apparently required to do, but he had the fucking audacity to do it while black. How fucking dare he only comply with their demands! Doesn't he know that these brave enforcers of the written, unwritten, and made on the spot rules deserve to both see and smell your extreme fear when they are randomly exercising their authority to be your judge, jury, and executioner just because you committed some minor traffic infraction.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

His window was actually down. He rolled it back up after telling them to go write the ticket because he's going to be late. Definitely some entitlement but he was compliant in every other respect.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

After reading this comment I've come to the conclusion he got what he deserved and it's okay for cops to abuse their power as long as they guy isn't acting civilized.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I unbuckle my belt and assume the posture

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I got a no seatbelt ticket for unbuckling it before he got to my window once. I was parked in a parking lot too. That cop was an asshole.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

He wasn't talking about a seatbelt...
