Because the negativity of existence cannot be entirely eliminated. Instead, we choose between forms of negativity.

Also because people opposed to free speech are willing to inject poison into free speech spaces in order to try and destroy them.

Just like there are terrorists doing mass shoutings in order to justify gun control expansion.
