I saw a really interesting Netflix documentary about this. It’s all in Spanish with subtitles, but it’s worth the watch if it’s still on there.

Is it really Spanish or do you mean Portuguese? I guess there is a chance a Spanish speaking team would investigate and create the show but wouldn't seem likely to me

Seems like it's in Portuguese according to Wikipedia. The English name of it is Killer Ratings

Yeah, I only speak English, so it all sounds like Spanish to me!
