For some reason, this first episode didn’t have the same draw as season one did. I’m really hoping it picks up though.
imo that's fine, it's a continuation so the people watching are likely already invested in the story, allows it to take things more slowly. Also the arc coming up needs the audience to know the new kid and their flaws, not much that can be done about that without making it half a snooze fest.
Yeah fair. I’ve been avoiding the source material since it makes me less angry when I watch the anime and they take liberties (required or otherwise.)
I haven't watched S2 yet but EP 1 of season one mainly got popular because of one scene
Which scene? O.o
The goblin raping a girl one
I assume that scene was likely censored on the platform I watched it, since I don’t really recall anything popping out as over the top.
iirc it was mostly Twitter having a break down because the scene dared actually show for once why the evil monsters deserving of genocide are treated that way in universe. You probably don't recall it because to a sane person it was a depiction of utter evil on behalf of the goblins and reason enough to justify a genocide on them. If you were however a twisted fuck like some of those Twitter cretins you'd look at the scene of goblins raping female adventurers as softcore porn and go complain about it in public.
I suppose I can understand that response, though I do think that would add some motivation behind the viewer hating the goblins.
That said, I am 99% certain that when I watched it on Crunchyroll, that scene was heavily censored as I don't recall seeing it, but it was likely implied while the screen was nearly black.
