Also they basically never use space suits. They just check to see if it is a class M planet and then are shocked whenever they discover it toxic in some mysterious way.
I was recently watching an episode of TOS, and Spock beamed onto an alien space ship. The first thing he said when he appeared was, "It appears to be a breathable atmosphere," or something like that. Like, YOU JUST FOUND THAT OUT?
I bet he was super calm about it too
Yeah, "Oops, should we not have been breathing in these alien plant spores?"
Every time they take off their helmet I practically scream for them to leave it on
I don't recall ever seeing a helmet to be honest
In TAS, they made a big deal about having personal shield that performed a similar function, but they often malfunctioned at a similar rate to the transporters and holodecks.
The EVA suit helmets
There are a few episodes
the ones that make you dance around and say "groovy, man", and feel the need to parrot anarchist demagoguery.. and late paying rent..
And when they do use space suits they open their helmets the moment they find an even marginally breathable atmosphere
