I've spent hundreds of dollars on toys and she loves the sock I put grocery bags in (and tied closed) more than anything else.

This is my cats. I got my first car and wanted to get some toys. They were more expensive than I expected so I bought two or three. Well the cats never play with them.

You know what they love? Paper bags from the grocery store, like clips that break off of the hanger.

Basically if it’s value it’s close to $0, they love it.

My cats also won't touch toys I get them. I just buy smallish blankets for them for their birthdays and Christmas and they reject those too and either I or my dogs end up using them. I'd rather get them something that'll be used by the rest of the household lol.

My wife bought this really nice wooden basket. It’s low to the ground and really wide. She put a cushion in it and it just sat there unused for almost a year. Only in the past month or so, the cats have started sleeping in it.

We would put them in, then they would jump out and lay next to it on the floor.

Sometimes, I think they are clever and other times I think they are so dumb!

Lol. I got a cat tree and hoped the cats would use it. They do, thank god.

I think the trick is to buy something and make them think they should not play with it. Then they have to have it.
