Yea I do get a little tired of all the Windows-hate haha

Yeah these ads that they shoved in my start menu and lockscreen are totally legit! I can't wait to consoom!

It's so goddamn annoying because I can block it on my personal computer but then they get me at work.

I was pretty ambivalent on Linux until then, but between that and the growing support for Linux gaming I'm going to have to make the plunge.

Don’t hurt Microsoft’s fee-fees.

Have you ever been on a date with someone who'd spend most the time talking shit about their ex?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yep cause my comment was "windows is perfect"

Didn't take me much effort to reach a near ad-free experience within the OS anyway

You're missing the point. It shouldn't take any effort. An operating system is not a place ads should be.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not saying they should be, I'm saying it's easily avoidable

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

It's not hate. It's just that when you know things, windows is simply insufferable and not working. And they make the system worse with each update.

"not working"?

amazing perspective

unfortunately, that's also my experience. I have to stick with Windows because of a few programs I use professionally, and dual-booting would be annoying

Somehow windows users manage to be more irrationally attached to their company brand than Linux users.

Windows users are not the ones who spam the lemmy front page with WiNdOwS bAd memes

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But Linux users are suffering computer illiteracy every day they're working. You can ban a user or a community if it bothers you so much.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I already did.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

It's crazy how comfortable the Linux community on Lemmy seems to be with forever living in Windows' shadow.

At least that's the impression you get with how often their conversations only revolve around "Windows bad".

It's ironic cause it is almost guaranteed most people on here use windows.
