Free from the shackles of AppleTV. It's nice to see him back in the seat where I learned about him the first time many many years ago.
My hot take is that he’s also much better when given constrained time. The Problem was interesting, but his comedy and commentary is forced to be much more clear and concise on the Daily Show. And when something bombs, the Daily Show doesn’t leave time to wade through a segment that isn’t working.
Not a bad take. I agree he's funnier in the constrained time, but I also liked the The Problem where he had more time for thoughtful discussions, interviews and debates. A lot less funny though.
Might also just be different and better writers on The Daily Show. /shrug
I legitimately didn't enjoy the panel format most episodes.
