I often hear, "You should never cheap out on a good office chair, shoes, underpants, backpack etc.." but what are some items that you would feel OK to cheap out on?

This can by anything from items such as: expensive clothing brands to general groceries.

Adult second hand clothes are fine too even if you'll wear them longer than a child. There are many people who give away clothes in perfect state just because they don't wear them as much. I've had similar luck with brand new 40โ‚ฌ jeans and second hand 5โ‚ฌ jeans.

Several years ago, we were given clothes by a woman whose husband had died. I still wear some of them, and we refer to one of the shirts as "the dead guy shirt".
