Net withdrawals from North American and US funds totalled SEK 13.7 billion, banks and households combined. This is the highest figure since 2010, when data started to be collected.

At the same time, net deposits in Swedish funds totalled SEK 22.7 billion - another record high, according to TT.

  • โ€˜It is clear that Swedish households have reacted strongly to the new US administration's turbulent policies, which so far have included trade wars and actions that have turned a lot of what we previously took for granted upside down,โ€™ says Stefan Westerberg, private economist at Lรคnsfรถrsรคkringar, which has compiled the total equity fund savings in Sweden, both among private savers and banks, during February.

After buying cordura wallets because most my wallets never lasted very long, i tried looking for an RFID-blocking cardwallet since those cordura ones were massively bulky

I ordered one from ร–gon before i knew about this EU-movement. I must admit i'm really happy to see i got lucky and supported our southern neighbours in France.

Strongbox a very well made macOS/iOS Keepass frontend was sold to Applause.

They don't have the best reputation and are seated in NYC.

Another reason why we need to buy locally

Does anyone know any european alternatives to PayPal? Since their customer support is also really annoying I'm considering boycotting PayPal completely as well.

I guess there is Klarna sometimes? And of course I can also buy directly with one time use virtual credit cards for example..

The Sรผddeutsche Zeitung is reporting on the buy European movement. And thus time it is not a newspaper with questionable reporting, but one of the largest German daily newspapers and arguably one of the best.

The article is likely paywalled.

A note! the desktop field is completely optional! You can install any other desktop you like, but the listed are the "main" ones, usually recommended by the distro.

Linux Mint

  • Country: Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช
  • Experience: Simple
  • Desktop: Cinnamon

Best distro for beginners. has two versions: One based off of ubuntu (default), and another one debian (recommended, LMDE)

https://www.linuxmint.com/

Ubuntu

  • Country: Britain ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง
  • Experience: Simple
  • Desktop: GNOME

Good distro, but has some controversies. Though it's the most popular beginners distro by far.

https://ubuntu.com/

EndeavourOS

  • Country: Netherlands ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ
  • Experience: Intermediate
  • Desktop: KDE/GNOME/XFCE

My second favorite :) Arch based, easy installer and updater, friendly community and beautiful themes. I recommend this distro if you are into arch based distros without wanting the painful part of it.

https://endeavouros.com/

OpenSUSE

  • Country: Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช
  • Experience: Intermediate
  • Desktop: KDE

It's mainly built around using the GUI, with tools like yast. Uses KDE.

https://www.opensuse.org/

Manjaro

  • Country: Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช / Austria ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡น / France๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท
  • Experience: Intermediate
  • Desktop: KDE/GNOME/XFCE

Added because of popular recommendation. I recommend EndeavourOS more, since manjaro has a... history.

https://manjaro.org/

NixOS

  • Country: Netherlands ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ
  • Experience: Advanced
  • Desktop: KDE/GNOME

My personal favorite <3 Great for servers. It's not for the faint of heart, though hah. It's an immutable distro, where there is no package manager, or manually modifying config files; your entire system is created with .nix files, not commands. Reproducable.

https://nixos.org/

Arch

  • Country: Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ (Yes yes, it's not european but how can you not mention arch???)
  • Experience: Advanced
  • Desktop: None

Most popular distro for dedicated users, and for good reason; bleeding edge, full power over your system. Though you have to manually set up everything, from internet to your deskop environment.

Void

  • Country: Spain ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ
  • Experience: Advanced
  • Desktop: XFCE

Great distro if you want something like arch, but without systemd or slightly more stable (Also, musl support). Obscure but amazing.

https://voidlinux.org/

Debian [Honorary mention]

  • Country: Global ๐ŸŒ
  • Experience: Intermediate
  • Desktop: KDE/GNOME/XFCE

An honorary mention. Isn't suited for everyone, but is the golden standard for servers, and the grandfather of a huge family tree of distros.

https://www.debian.org/

VanillaOS [Honorary mention]

  • Country: Global ๐ŸŒ๏ธ
  • Experience: Advanced
  • Desktop: GNOME

VanillaOS is a debian-based immutable operating system, which can install packages from any other distro and is very hard to brick.

https://vanillaos.org/

That should cover a lot. Please heed the desktop warning, and please correct me/comment suggestions. This is not perfect, so please do criticize where possible c:

Adding reviews with political opinions might remove the review.

So it might be best to just rate it based on features if you write something, or just rate the apps without text at all.

I'm looking for an Adobe Acrobat alternative, or PDF-editor, that is capable of:

  • marking text;
  • adding text;
  • adding comments (like one would do in MS Word);
  • adding a signature (in some way);
  • preferably, but not necessary: the ability to recognise text in files where the text is not selectable (i.e. one can copy text from an image file that was saved as a PDF, like some printers do when scanning pages).

Does anyone happen to know of any European or Open Source alternative that fit this description? I have sworn to never again install any Adobe software.

Hi all,

I have my professional math webpage set up on Google Sites (i.e., I used the editor there, and it is hosted on their servers). Now I would like to change this. So could you recommend any similar services? That is, a service that will allow me to design the webpage (preferably free, but some small fee is also ok - I don't need fireworks there, just good-looking personal webpage) and host it?

I'm trying Lunatask. It's a one-man project, and the author is from the Czech Republic. The software looks interesting, complete, and visually appealing. It also stands out from a privacy perspective, offering end-to-end encryption.

The plan tiers are little pricey so it would be best suited for a business.
