...It's not too bad after all. Nothing groundbreaking, but okay for what it is.

I think if you liked it and wanted a little more mature approach you have some good options to go to from here, whether that's Samurai Flamenco or Tiger & Bunny. Not that into superheroes, so there's undoubtedly more, but those are a couple others I'd checked out before getting around to MHA.

I enjoyed seasons 1-4, but it definitely didn't stay as good throughout. Then season 5 started with a drawn out high school battle with no actual stakes and or real plotpoints. It just felt like it regressed, especially after the amazing ending of season 4 with Endeavour, so I dropped it.

Aah, I'm only in the midst of season 4 right now, and I'm not sure if what I'm watching it through goes to season 5 or not. I'm only now realizing this series is still ongoing, so I may stop after season 4, particularly if that's all that's available anyway. ๐Ÿ˜„

I enjoyed the first season, but I quickly dropped the second in favor of reading the manga. The art is better, and the trudging pace of the story in the anime is much faster.

How do you go about following manga btw? Physical copies, or can you buy them digitally now? I used to try to follow some manga with physical copies, but for long-running series that got silly, and libraries around me only carried a few older volumes if they carried any.

(I know of other ways to get them fwiw, but a quick glance at the terms for this instance says not to discuss those, so let's not get into them ๐Ÿ˜… )

My local library does carry a shit-ton of series, but the real kicker is you can electronically order books for pickup from the entire capital city region of libraries, even if all copies are lent out you can get in line right from the website.

Basically, if something exists as a physical book, you can arrange for yourself to read it. You can even use the library website to track down what books and how many copies are in what libraries and on what shelf, and then go get them yourself same day. Same library card works in the whole capital city region and you don't need to return books to the same library.

Back during my conscription the garrison library stocked several dozen series too, that I devoured in the boredom of hurrying up and waiting. Funny how a library specifically meant to cater to 18-year-old men had plenty of girly romance manga...

You can get digital releases, too, I've read a lot of manga on an e-reader. First on a Kobo, now on a Android based Likebook device which I can use any app on for accessing manga that I like.

Kindle has tons, and for series that only exist in English thanks to fan translations, reading from mangadex using tachiyomi/mihon is fantastic.

Due to all that, the books and manga volumes I own are mostly gifts from others and some money spent on series I especially like, and want to be able to just take off the shelf and read.
