Please provide an archived link. Users, if you want this to stay up, you can help them out and provide it as well.

He's a narcissist and he absolutely does get triggered by the idea that people don't respect him. You can easily tell by how vengeful he is about the most minuscule shit.

That gets put out there a lot. And while I generally agree, I just really think he's got what he wants and he could give a fuck at this point.

I still think he cares, in fact, I think he cares about this a lot.

Trump in his second term is a puppet for his administration, he's there to attract spotlights with his seething unhinged rants on hicktown social, his natural stupidity, his weird orange make up, etc. In general, the chaos this clown provides is perfect for masking what his administration is steering the US to.

I do think that ultimately his fragile narcissist ego can be a weakness since I can't see him going along with this for too long.

Yeah, he's way past caring about shit like that

He probably doesn't care anymore because he's just trying to figure out the next grift of saying in office until he dies. His Republican colleagues however are surely starting to panic. If he crashes hard enough, fast enough, we might just see enough spine to still get a free election in 2026.

Could this be the end of MAGA?

[–] Hylactor@sopuli.xyz 11 points 2 weeks ago

Well. If Trump capitulated on even one single vindictive whim, I'd feel a lot more encouraged. But it feels more like he's operating with impunity. Which isn't typically considered to be a traditional sign of impending obselesence.

It's almost like he's not worried about winning future elections. Almost like he knows he/they will win whatever people vote...

They know they have a hardcore of 20-30% of hardcore personality cult followers, and those are around the kinds of numbers you need to sustain a dictatorship.

The US right now is operating outside of the constitution - it is basically no longer the US. Constitutional crisis of the president ignoring the judicial branch aside, congress is doing nothing to step in as the majority of its members are majority sycophants who are just doing what they are told so they can remain in the good graces and get rich easily, and all major institutional heads of the federal government have been replaced with loyalists and an agency that is basically operating outside of the government and painting only a surface level facade to make it seem as if it operating as part of it is accessing all governmental data and syphoning off through Starlink to who knows what datacenters off somewhere.

Perhaps the worst thing isn't that the US is no longer operating under its constitution, but how little the constitution was worth to all the people who pledged their loyalties to it just to step aside and let this happen. The modern US seems to have been operating under none of the foundations they persistently virtue signaled about, apparently, and it was largely all built out of a patriotic hype bubble in the end.

Meh. Not like congress nor the public is gonna do anything about it.

Are these less than what Biden had as President?
