The complexity of our societal systems is a feature not a bug. It's easier to hide corruption in a knot.

Google "Pentagon audit" to learn more!

Be sure to not have throwable things around you if you haven't heard about this before. Especially the amount of money that was being reported missing right before 9-11-2000, and suddenly was never brought up again.

Maybe it was sold by the generals, and so the soldiers doing the actual fighting on the ground received inferior equipment, if any at all!

Oh no wait, that was Russia.

Am I doing whataboutism right?

The mind of a liberal is truly an amazing thing. Defending corrupt Nazis to own the tankies? Russia-bots? Putler? Incredible.

You’ve done your part today brave soldier. May you rest smugly tonight. Content in the knowledge that you don’t have to know or understand anything because the state department will feed you your talking points for tomorrow through your favorite corporate media channel.

It's important to note that this is a failure of the Pentagon to properly track their equipment than the fault of Ukraine due to corruption or something.

It is Corruption and that part IS the Ukrainian adminstration's fault. Ukraine is still among the most corrupt countries in Europe.

No different then if someone gives you a gun, that it is your fault if you sell it or carelessly lose it and it appears getting used to shot someone else on another continent. Ukrainian Goverment does have its own sense of Agency.

You didn't bother to read the article did you? Ukraine didn't lose anything. They used it. The pentagon simply failed to track the delivery.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Shortfalls in required monitoring by American officials mean the U.S. cannot track more than $1 billion in weapons and military equipment provided to Ukraine to fight invading Russian forces, according to a Pentagon audit released Thursday.

Citing what he said was Russian disinformation to the contrary, Ryder added, “The fact is, we observed the Ukrainians employing these capabilities on the battlefield.

House Republican opposition for months has stalled Biden’s request to Congress for $105 billion more for Ukraine, Israel and other national security objectives.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Thursday that there was no funding left for additional military aid packages to Ukraine.

The U.S. has provided tens of billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine, including big systems such as air defense.

Kirby said administration officials “has for many months now been interested in improving accountability over the end use of material that is provided to Ukraine.”
