Every sci fi fan should watch it! Season one is a little rough but boy does it get good. Season four is arguably the best sci fi season ever.
Bab5 is the best scifi tv show of all time. Some people would say that The Expanse is just as good or better, I don't know.
B5, DS9 and the expanse are all pretty much tied for me

Psi Corp and techno mage are fantastic creations in that universe.
I actually watched it for the first time recently and quite enjoyed it. Lots of interesting characters and story. Like already mentioned the CGI is really bad. I wish they stuck with models rather than early 3D effects. Season 5 and the end of 4 feel a bit underwhelming after the main threat is resolved sometime in the middle of the penultimate season.
That’s exactly where I stopped watching. They had this major plot line resolved and then it just stuck around with nothing to do.
As an FYI, they didn't expect to get renewed for S5 so the end of S4 was originally supposed to be the series finale. Then they had to come up with a new one

I, also, love Battlestar Galactica.
But that's a different franchise. Battlestar Galactica is the one with the robots everyone calls "toasters" but they can only say "exterminate" and can't walk stairs except in the later seasons.

100% worth it. With the caveat that the effects aren't good. The story and characters more than make up for it though.

Yeah it’s kind of like the spiritual successor to 90s trek with family guy humor sprinkled in. I did not watch season 3 yet, but I heard it was great!!
