A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.

The irony is that this post itself is political.
On an individual community this could work, sure, but on the whole website you would effectively be closing certain communities entirely.
Love the idea, but good luck. Federation has some downsides, one of them being it will be literally impossible to get consensus on this from all servers.
People who complain about “politics” on this platform really show their whole ass by revealing they’re actually just right-wing nutjobs or Russian trolls. So which are you?
Have you considered that some people actually get tired of the constant vitriol and negativity that accompany internet politics, even if you generally align with the prevailing opinions? Also god forbid you are actually centrist or conservative and want to be able to look at memes and tech news in peace without being reminded about The Illegitimate Colonizer State of Israel for the ten millionth time

I think we should also have an only politics day so we hate it even more. Something like clockwork orange maybe.
This is a joke but it could be interesting.
this is why i like to create lists (on social) or bookmark certain communities instead of subscribing or following so it can easily be put aside when i need a mental health day (which, being trans, is more often than not these days :|)
