People hate and downvote you for that because they cannot accept that their freedom fighters are murderous beast, who want palestinians to die. It must all be Israel's fault.

Guess this justifies a genocide
If there is one thing we can learn from all this, it is that you people have literally no idea what a genocide is.
I am going by the post-Holocaust 1948 UN Genocide Convention's definition.

I don't know what "you people" is supposed to denote. People who are paying more attention than you, apparently.
"Some guy I believe to be an authority on the matter says so, so it must be true!"
Go read the definition again but this time don't skip over this point:
"acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group"
Where to you see the intent to eradicate a group of people? The actions of Israel would look drastically different if a genocide was their intent. Why let people leave northern Gaza at all? Why allow deliveries of supplies? If it was a genocide why not fall into hysterics about Egypt not letting people flee from their eradication?
You throw that word around because you like how heavy and important it feels while completely missing the meaning and implications it has. If you want to see an actual genocide attempt, look what Hamas did on the 7th.
Where do I see it? In the links I just sent you. In the public statements of the Israeli regime advocating genocide.
Then better look at Israel's actions instead of only listening to the words you want to hear. Letting people leave a combat area is not something that is done when you want to eradicate them. Shooting at old people and torturing families to death as Hamas did is what a genocide looks like. Murdering people who want to flee is genocide material.
You're beyond clueless. Genocide and incitement to genocide are inchoate crimes, i.e., you don't have to successfully eradicate a population to be guilty of it, just to commit actions with intent. Not to even get into the openly genocidal actions that have occurred. Read the links I sent you or shut up, it's covered in absolutely exhaustive detail.
Not continuing this conversation.
edit for a more precise definition:
Incitement to genocide is a crime under international law which prohibits inciting (encouraging) the commission of genocide. An extreme form of hate speech, incitement to genocide is considered an inchoate offense and is theoretically subject to prosecution even if genocide does not occur, although charges have never been brought in an international court without mass violence having occurred. "Direct and public incitement to commit genocide" was forbidden by the Genocide Convention in 1948. Incitement to genocide is often cloaked in metaphor and euphemism and may take many forms beyond direct advocacy, including dehumanization and accusation in a mirror.
commit actions with intent
There you go. No intent shown - actually the opposite even. You seem convinced there is a genocide going on and completely ignore all the signs that point ro it being obviously not one.
