I'm not so versed in Doctor Who, but weren't/aren't there more doctors?

Yes, but it's complicated. The most recent incarnation is called the 13th Doctor, but there was also one between 8 and 9 called the War Doctor, so the current one is technically the 14th Doctor, and the one that will be called the 14th Doctor will be the same as the 10th.
