That is actually a very meaningful order. I had to check, did they mean launchers or batteries. Looks like 17 batteries. That's pretty big, IRIS-T is very modern kit.

It was a joke based off what OP said...
OP wasn't sure if they were sending the missles until they read the article.
I made a what I thought was funny comment about how they were only going to send the launchers, and fuck the missles.
Edit: also in format of NO SOUP FOR YOU, but I should have left the "though" off for that.
No he wrote launchers or batteries. He meant if they were all complete systems with both launchers and radar/command module, which they are.
It has nothing to do with missiles.

So 3 launchers capable of firing 8 missiles each, and 1 command module per system.
The command module can track all 24 missiles simultaneously.
So this is a pretty big deal.

I think it's more your joke that was daft, nobody said anything about it ONLY being launchers, and nobody found you joke funny.
