If rent is the only thing keeping you from enjoying life, there are several solutions to your problem.
Capitalism does not keep you from enjoying life. Creating a Boogeyman does.
You're right. Silly us. It just ascribes a price tag to everything that slowly rises while your wages don't. Then it effectively locks you in place through pricarious financials.
Everyone should just become a YouTuber and travel the world. /s
