  • OS: OpenBSD 7.5-current amd64
  • Host: Lenovo ThinkPad T400
  • WM: cwm
  • GTK Theme: Mint-L-Dark-Purple
  • Icon Theme: GNOME-Noble
  • Font: spleen

  • Shell: ksh
  • Browser: Tor Browser
  • Editor: nvim
  • Terminal: Sakura

Notes:

  • I plan to make my own GTK and Qt themes for this machine, but Mint-L is a pretty good fit for now.
  • OpenBSD-current is fairly unstable. I'll be switching back to -stable or -release when 7.6 is released in October.
  • I picked the Polybar colour scheme from Amethyst (the character from Steven Universe). This is what I will use for the custom GTK and Qt themes.

I can only hope it's not too bright or too colorful for anyone!

Wallpaper by Adrien Olichon and if you like this style, there is more good stuff.

Using a less aggressive approach to rounding the corners on the desktop elements this time. Overall theme is Material-Black-Cherry but I color sampled the tree she's reclining on for the desktop elements. Gruvbox-Material-Black for the icon set.

Gentoo with a custom kernel made using the fantastic guidance from the wiki.

I replaced the tux boot logo with an IBM one, I used this guide to do that: https://linuxlink.timesys.com/docs/wiki/engineering/HOWTO_Use_a_custom_boot_logo (is not that hard)

Things that don't work yet:

  • Webcam microphone

Conclusion about Gentoo: Waiting for packages to compile is annoying. But the flexibility and the Gentoo wiki makes up for it. Also Gentoo now has binary packages so I don't have to wait for packages that I don't care about to compile.

Feel free to ask me how I did things, information is difficult to find sometimes, so I'm happy to help

My current Linux setup. I'm still waiting for Cosmic. I'm hyped. BSPWM is really comfy to use. It is the best starter tiling wm to me. Wallpaper.
