I've never even heard of this before. Is it mostly a rendering library or is it a full game framework like Godot or Unity?

And thanks to the AI customers you can't afford it anyways.

Right now I could go create 30 sock puppet accounts to respond to this. Is that really a good thing?

Let government offer the service of "here is a way any human can certifiably identify themselves online" and let people decide what providers they want to give that info to.

If you want to use or run anonymous social media, that's fine.

I don't.

in the end I went with CanSpace as registrar, and I’m using CloudFlare to actually run the nameservers.

The transfer was kind of a PITA because since the domain transferred from Google to Squarespace to Canspace to then being hosted on CF’s nameservers (but still on Canspace) the DNSSEC meant that CF couldn’t actually get it connected until like 48 hours later. Was quite worried that I’d screwed up somewhere.

Honestly the 2nd analog stick I didn't mind too much because the face-buttons made a decent D-pad for the tiny handful of shooters on the DC. The bigger flaw was the lack of 2nd shoulder-buttons.

Also that putting a screen into a controller has always been a solution looking for a problem. It was on the DC, it was on the Wii-U, and there's a good reason they abandoned the idea to put a screen on the PS4 touchpad controller.

So lemmiverse, my https://pxtl.ca domain has officially been booted off of Google Domains (welcome to the Google graveyard, Google Domains) and now has been moved into Squarespace, which is expensive.

Anybody recommend a good cheap .ca TLD domain host? One with a decent API for dynamic DNS so I can keep my home subdomain? I have a couple of pi4 servers in the house that could be tasked with pinging an API endpoint to notify the domain host of my IP.

thanks in advance.

And a train can even be greener than his silly cars with direct electrification via 3rd rail or overhead catenary.

I have my own shopping list of Mastodon features that i watched languish in PRs on GitHub. I like Rochko, but he completely failed to meet the moment of Twitter's explosion and make the massive flood of excitement about Mastodon into the real permanent gains that were up for grabs.

Most of my wish list have nothing to do with safety because I'm a straight cis white guy and so my experience of Mastodon is that its userbase is painfully anodyne.

But the point stands that a hard fork with a focus on development velocity is long overdue.

The other two are in AP mode and are not running as routers.

Merlin has the problem that it doesn't have something like like aimesh where you can auto synch the config between all your routers. I've got a network of three Asus routers and they work great and I can admin them like they're one router, and I'd hate to have to give that to up.

Never turn on remote admin. You don't need to admin your router from outside of your house.

Well, the dryer has been disassembled and vacuumed, the dead coil removed, the new coil swapped in, ready to reassemble as soon as the new belt arrives. I was surprised how much of the brown shmutz in the heater was just ash from the coils - it dusted off quite shiny after I replaced the coil.

Before

busted heating element before

After

repaired heating element

I'm a little worried about the visibly duller part of the heater assembly, hopefully that won't absorb too much heat - I tried to cluster the coils a bit looser there to compensate.

It's even visible on the reverse side.

dull area where burn happened

Either way, I'm reassembling tomorrow when the new belt arrives.

I feel like I have a moral responsibility to attempt to repair anything before making it waste. So I'm trying my hand at the dryer. Sadly I didnt' realize that the whole tub joint pops upwards so I detached the tub from the join and then found the join comes off pretty easy anyways.

Anyhow, everything is made of garbage these days:

Photo of broken heating coil

But I think I can replace that. But while I'm in there: any recommendations on how to lubricate the tub joint? Anything else I should be replacing while I've got it apart? I noticed the tape sealing up the exhauste has disintegrated so I figure I should replace that with a strip of aluminum duct tape.

It seems like the whole feature is running wrong and should probably be hidden until it can be reexamined. Because every Lemmy server seems to have "trending communities" that are just empty new communities or are just single-user bot feeds. And those are fine uses of lemmy! But they're not "trending".

I have a Logi G935. G Hub has finally stopped pooping the bed and is decent software now. But after a bit over 3 years the G935 has worn out - it's full of loose connections to the right-side earcup and the mic. Very disappointing. Also the earpads are flaking, but that's normal wear.

So, looking for recommendations. I like Logi hardware, but obviously I'm not going to buy another one of these if they're still lemons.

Sorry if this is the wrong community for this.
