Plasma 6 Bugs

If you encounter a bug, proceed to https://bugs.kde.org/, check whether it has been reported.

If it hasn't, report it yourself.

PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING HERE.

Developers do not look for reports on social media, so they will not see it and all it does is clutter up the feed.

It's an app for translating and speaking text using Mozhi.

We've added automatic selection for the fastest instance and fixed some bugs.

My next plan is to port it to Qt6. I try to get to it during my winter vacation. I'm just currently focused on a FOSS life simulation game. If anyone wants to help with the migration, PRs are welcome!

Works both on desktops and mobile Linux. Here is a screenshot of the app running on my PinePhone Pro:

I did a KDE themed plate

Back & Front at https://drive.proton.me/urls/K5ANGQHYDC#NHwY3Nn5m3ta [Yes I drew on the back too]

they're apparently going to get cleaned up as they get heated and glazed, the colours are also apparently supposed to get MUCH darker when we get them in a week!

[I will post the results after a week in this same thread coz I dont wanna flood the lemmy with plates]

Is there any way to make the touchpad orientation follow the screen orientation on Plasma 6 under Wayland? I have a laptop, and sometimes i use it on portrait mode and i'd like the trackpad to mimic the creen orientation for ease of use.
I'm on Fedora 40 KDE spin.

"This week in KDE Apps" is out!

We migrated more apps to Qt6, made Dolphin more optimized for mobile, added many new features to Tokodon, and much more.

KUnifiedPush: KDE's efficient way of delivering notifications to your apps

KUnifiedPush, KDE's client library for the UnifiedPush protocol, has reached version 1.0.0. KUnifiedPush provides a way to deliver notifications instantly to multiple apps on your devices even if the apps are not running.

Ideal for social media, weather and instant messaging apps, it will also contribute to improving the battery life on your mobile devices.

I have a use case where I would like to play games on the TV in my living room.

For this I have purchased a HDMI KVM Extender which allows me to have an HDMI signal connected to my TV. This is working great, but the only problem is that i would like to disable the other outputs when I am not using them, mostly for ease-of-use with windows not opening on the monitors in the office while I am in the TV Room.

I have tried using kscreen-doctor with the command "kscreen-doctor output.HDMI-A-1.disable" which works, but wreaks havoc on the display configuration in KDE Plasma on my desktop.

One solution I have found is to simply pull out the display connectors that I don't need on the PC, which works as intended. Only problem is that its a bit brute force. I had hoped to find something with similar functionality but controlled from the system. IE. a script, shortcut or similar.

Asking here in hopes that someone can suggest a way to get this to work!

System info:

  • Operating System: Fedora Linux 40

  • KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4

  • KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0

  • Qt Version: 6.7.2

  • Kernel Version: 6.10.8-200.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit)

  • Graphics Platform: Wayland

  • Processors: 24 Γ— AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor

  • Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM

  • Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

EDIT: OMG, this solution was so simple, but completely just worked. Just mirrored the main display and fixed individual refresh rates, even works when turning the extender on and off. Major thanks to @pandapoo for the idea

Hi there - I'm currently using Gnome and wanted to try out plasma (been many years since using kde). Gnome has a certain 'way' you must go along with, and I wanted flexibility.

I was struck by the limited number of supported online account types (especially Microsoft 365) that are supported by gnome but not kde. Is this something that is likely to improve going forward?
