It likely means they deal with allergies

or dealing with coke.
Or dealing coke.
Or just don't like that sweet sweet pepsi
If they're like me, it's allergies and they're so miserable they forgot you were talking.
They're signaling the sniper.
It could mean either one!
source: I am autistic and really enjoy NT communication patterns
Also, if you interpret their signal wrong theyβll take it as a sign you hate them. Yay humans.
"Wait, you mean you don't want to dock noses?"
I thought docking didn't involved noses.
Not with that attitude
That comment was fun. Kinda typically a bit of a snarky comment, but really came off as nice and wholesome in context.
You're thinking of jennifing and people hate it
If you immediately know the candlelight is fire, then the meal was cooked a long time ago.
But meal has been cooked so often or missed entirely, that you're not sure if the fire is even warm
If it's me, my nose is just itchy, and I'm not even thinking about it, or aware I'm doing it. Happens all the time.
My "wiping nose because its dirty" is very different to my "pantomime wiping nose to indicate someone else's is dirty". Also, I will say something before for the latter case like "Hey, you have a little bit of..."
"... shit smeared over your crotch"
That's what I say for machine oil on the edge of someone's nose, yes
Their nose is dirty or the nasal drip from the coke is getting to em
In the US this means steal 3rd base.
It means they're wearing a wire
It means their nose is dirty and if your nose is dirty, theyβll say it with words.
So if their nose ISN'T dirty, would it be kind for me to tell them so?
Or would that embarrass them?
Idk if it's how I was raised or smth. But I don't get how can that come off as offensive (or similar) in any way.
A: "Oh hey you got a little choc on the side of your mouth"
B: "Fuck you, how dare you? I hate you now. Do not ever talk to me again"
I just simply don't see this happening, ever. If it's a stranger and you start the convo with this then you might not be on good terms, caz it's super wierd. But to a friend, lover, colleague, boss, manager I only see an outcome where they thank you, or worst case just turn away, act shy and clean it off.
Anyways. This wasn't what you were asking. If they are scratching their nose, just let them(?). Like what harm does it cause you? Maybe they are sick, allegic, or feel dirty or itchy, it's probly best to act like you didn't even notice it :/
A: "Oh hey you got a little choc on the side of your mouth"
B: "Oh, thanks"
B (in their head): "Oh no, how embarrassing. How can I face A again? Time to avoid them for the rest of eternity."
Do you do that? As I said I really can't imagine this scenario. I feel like I should.. I feel like I'm tunnel visioned or just have VERY little life experience now. Do some ppl really react that way? If yes, why!?
Everyone I know (and me) will just forget about it in 5s or be thankful. Even you said that B'll thank them, but I (think..) I can tell the difference between an honest thanks and a fake one.
Is this some mental health thingy, like anxiety or something? Or "fear of having a friend looking out for you"?
I don't do this myself, but I know people who have expressed similar worries.
crazy
Are they looking meaningfully at you while they're doing it?
Ah yes. Looking meaningfully. Thank god NT culture has such wonderful disambiguating methods. I love this place.
"neurologically typical culture"
Well played. Also this isn't your first comment here. Are you just hating on normal ppl now?
It means it's allergy season (spring).
I seem to remember that frequently wiping ones nose is a sign of regular cocaine consumption.
Can confirm, but it is also something people do when sick or they just got an itchy nose due to hay fever or something.
My nose is just itchy but I don't want to pick it during the conversation
Maybe it was Slavoj Zizek!
Yes
